Heavy rain and storms expected this afternoon!

It's setting up to be a wet Sunday across the area.  Louisville is in a Lull in the shower activity that seems to be surrounding the metro area on all sides right now.

The remnant low pressure system formerly Hurrican Isaac is spinning just to our west and will slowly approach the area through the day.

The major computer weather models continue to indicate the possibility of heavy rainfall in our area today.  Here's a look at the Nam/Wrf for this afternoon showing heavy rainfall across the central portions of our viewing area.

The GFS is even more robust with the rainfall and is showing rainfall amounts this afternoon could approach two inches!

With that being said, AdvanceTrack, which is a higher resolution model is indicating some breaks in the precip leading up to and after kickoff for today's UL/UK game.

I think this may be a best case scenario.  In addition, a few strong storms will be possible later today.  Be sure to check back in with the blog for the latest.
