Late Update On Storms Moving Across Our Area

Storms continue to move across our area this evening with gusty winds and small hail. The strongest storms are moving back into Louisville, so small hail still a possibility for the metro. Let me get you caught up...

Notice the intense lightning strikes moving through Brandenburg, KY right now and moving toward the Louisville area. This means heavy rain, tons of lightning, and small hail are possible in particular in southern Jefferson and Bullitt counties in Kentucky.

The southern part of the line is decaying and you will notice there are not as many lightning strikes on this part of the line.

In addition, the southern part of the line is showing an outflow of cold air racing ahead of the storms. When a storm goes outflow dominated, normally it is in the weakening phase.

I will keep watching things closely and update you as necessary.
