Rain / Clouds For The Rest Of The Afternoon???
We have been plagued with rain and t-storms basically every single day this week. I know a lot of you are looking forward to some sunshine to brighten the day. I want to discuss whether the rain is done and if we are going to continue to see more sunshine for the rest of the afternoon in my blog.
The steady rain really shut off for Louisville around midday today. Most of that steady rain is now passing through Columbia, KY and soon to exit our area.
There are still a few light showers around the metro, but nothing that is very heavy as of 2:20 pm.
Notice the large area of clearing already moving into southern Indiana. All data suggests this clearing will be moving in our direction this afternoon, so more sunshine should occur as the afternoon progresses.
We are already seeing northwesterly winds move into all of southern Indiana and now into Louisville. This is the cold front moving through. Notice the large area of northwesterly winds spreading across southern Indiana.
This is really important because the northwesterly wind will be blowing the cooler and drier air into our area. Notice the really low dewpoints already moving into Bedford, IN right now. YESS!!!! Lower humidity!!!
My Thoughts For The Rest Of The Day
The shower and t-storm chances are not done just yet. Isolated t-showers remain possible through the later part of the afternoon, then the chance will really nose dive fast. By 4 pm, we should see the dewpoint drop below around 60 degrees in the Louisville area. This will open the door for much more comfortable readings this evening. I think a stray shower could still occur along and south of the river through the afternoon, but by early evening the chance will all but go away. We should move toward mosty sunny skies near 7 pm and the evening looks great for Trinity versus St. X at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Enjoy a fantastic evening in the weather department!
