Another Frost Likely In The Next Few Days!

This morning we saw a widespread frost in our area. As we look into the future, I think another cold night is possible with frost likely before this work week ends. Let's look at the data...

Frost Setup

The last time I wrote a blog about cold temperatures, I mentioned we need low dewpoints and clear skies to allow maximum cooling. If the high pressure sits on our head early Thursday, then we will have the necessary clear skies and light winds to cool quickly. Notice it is literally right on top of us by Thursday morning.

The data also suggests dewpoints will be very low Thursday morning. Notice our entire area see dewpoints dropping below 30 degrees Thursday morning.

My Thoughts On Your Next Frost

The data suggests conditions will be present to allow maximum cooling Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The data rolling in this afternoon is showing another very cold start to your day on Thursday. Remember, the computer model name and time stamp are in the top right corner of each image.

The temperatures about 1 mile above the ground will support lows of about 32 degrees south of the river and 30-31 degrees north of the river. The metro will bias warmer, so I am forecasting a low of 36 for Louisville. It looks like a large portion of you will need this again...
