Remaining unseasonably cool for now... then turning warmer and wetter!
There has definitely been a chill in the air lately! Yesterday's high of 59 degrees in Louisville made for three days in a row that high temps have been limited to the 50's!
I think we'll see a small warm up this afternoon as highs return to the low to mid 60's across the area thanks to lots of sunshine and a light south breeze.
This warming trend will be a short one though. Another cold front is due to arrive first thing tomorrow morning with a reinforcing shot of cool air.
GFS 850 Temps Valid Tomorrow Morning
A more pronounced warm up is expected to arrive over the weekend and it look's like we'll go from unseasonably cold to unseaonably warm conditions by Saturday.
GFS 850 Temps Valid Saturday Evening
Temps could hit 80° by the end of the weekend!
In addition to the warmer weather, it looks like it will turn wetter as well with a few rounds of showers and storms possible Sunday through Wednesday of next week.
Here's a look at forecasted precipitation courtesy this morning's run of the GFS...
GFS Surface Pressure and Precipitation Valid Sunday Morning
GFS Surface Pressure and Precipitation Valid Monday Evening
GFS Surface Pressure and Precipitation Valid Wednesday Morning
So what does all this mean?
A.) Expect the unseasonably cool conditions to stick around through the middle of the week.
B.) We will see a pattern change this weekend with much warmer conditions arriving!
C.) In addition to the warmer weather, it looks to turn wetter too with multiple rounds of showers and storms possible starting Sunday through early next week.
