The NWS Just Confirmed A 4th Tornado That Hit Our Area Early Wednesday!

The NWS has now officially confirmed 4 tornadoes for our area and the latest is now an EF-0 in Meade County. Here is the latest official info from the NWS.

 

...EF-0 Tornado Confirmed in Meade County... Damage Type: Tornado Date: Jan 30 2013 Begin Time: 4:05 AM EST...

End Time: 4:05 AM EST

Begin Point: 5.5 miles southeast of Brandenburg

End Point: 5.8 miles east-southeast of Brandenburg

EF Scale: EF-0

Wind Speed: 80 mph

Path Length: 1 mile

Path Width: 200 yards

Narrative: This tornado touched down in a grove of trees near the end of Kurtz Drive. The tornado traveled to the northeast and damaged homes on Kurtz Drive and at the intersection of Thornhill Drive and Gaines Road. Continuing to the northeast, at a home east of Gaines Road the owner reported that the water was evacuated out of all four toilets in the building as the tornado passed by. At the home next door the front door was pulling away from the building. Residents reported a loud roar. The tornado continued northeast through some woods and lifted after damaging a small shed off of Tom Cain Road.

The NWS is calling that straight line wind damage.
