What In The World Is This Crazy White Streak Across This Picture?

I found this picture a few days ago and it really got my attention. You can see this really odd white stripe going across the entire length of this picture taken in Alberta, Canada from July 6th. What in the world is it?

Here Is The Answer...

This is what we call a "hail streak". On July 6th, a storm moved through Airdrie, Alberta in Canada. What made this storm amazing is that it was not just a hail producer, but it produced an amazing amount of hail that was enough to amount to nearly 6" deep parts of the town! The storm moved along for about 20 minutes and continued to drop hail at a crazy rate resulting in a hail streak 2 -3 miles wide and about 15 miles long. It is really amazing that you can see a hail streak this long from an aerial photo! Wild stuff!

Here is a video of what it looked like as the hail began to accumulate in Airdrie, Alberta...

I tried to think of all the possibilities and thought of hail, but was thinking it can't be, impossible. Great one Marc.
