First Week of Spring: Warm and Wet!

Spring arrives in less than two days, and just like that we've got some spring-like conditions on cue.

Active jet stream winds look to bring warming conditions over the next 6 to 10 days with the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) placing much of the Central and Eastern US in above normal temps.

While that doesn't mean we won't see cold shots during the period, it just means that we will see our share of 60's and 70's with only short duration cool spells in between.

In addition to the warmth, it looks to be wet too as CPC has almost the entire US in for above normal precip during the period.

What do I think?

I think it looks active for sure.  The GFS above shows forecasted precip amounts over the next 7 days  in our area and in my opinion, these numbers may be too low with very heavy rainfall possible next weekend.

We'll be watching.
