More Weekend Storms Expected with Severe Weather Possible...

Following a stormy Friday which included several severe thunderstorms and a couple possible tornadoes, the action picks up again on Saturday with another round of strong to severe storms expected.

The Storm Prediction Center has a Slight Risk for severe weather for areas along and north of the Ohio River into Indiana and west into Western Kentucky for Saturday and Saturday night.

Let's time it out with AdvanceTrak...

AT shows a morning round of sub-severe storms moving through Southern Indiana.

This activity could produce locally heavy rain and maybe some small hail before quickly exiting by noon.

Most of the afternoon looks dry but sultry with high levels of heat and humidity.  Temps could approach 90!

Storms look to reignite during the evening hours with the chance for severe weather.

Storms grow in size before exiting during the late evening hours.

What do I think?

While we will have plenty of fuel for storms to feed off of, upper level support will be lacking tomorrow.  With that being said, like we saw today, some storms could grow strong enough to produce a damaging wind and hail threat.  Also, some of the data shows some "backing" of the winds at the surface as storms take off during the evening and also like we saw today, this could be enough to produce a quick spin-up, primarily across portions of Southern Indiana.

Marc and Rick will have a full update on WDRB News tonight.
