Weather Blog: Today's Hot Topic...School Or No School

From Jude Redfield...

Some people are happy schools are closed some people are mad. Always a tough decision and I don't envy the people having to make the call. Jefferson county had quite the range of snow amounts. Northern sections of the county saw a covering to half inch while areas in the southern half had over an inch in spots. Sections of Shelby county ended up with 1"-2". The very cold ground combined with a couple hours of moderate snow allowed for all the snow to stick and make many side/less traveled roads very slick. Check out this slideshow of viewer photos which should help everyone see exactly what drivers had to face this morning. A reminder...please feel free to submit your photos and weather reports to our facebook & twitter pages or through the WDRB Weather App. -Jude Redfield-
