WHAT IS THAT Strange White Steak On The Ground In Colorado? I'll Give You A Hint, It's Not Snow...
On May 14, a thunderstorm in northern Colorado laid down a swath of hail that could be seen from space! The hailstorm hit about 60 miles north of downtown Denver producing a nearly 2.5-mile-long trail that made for some amazing areal shots...
Awesome aerial shots of a small hail trail. Pilot says this was on Tuesday morning just north of Wellington, Colorado. Love how small it is, and how it turns sharply to the right. This probably fell late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. 📷by Jane Carpenter #9wx #COwx pic.twitter.com/Yjvc4B8VzX

Crews even had to break out the snow plows to clear several inches of small hail off the roads. This drone video might be one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. Accumulating hail from this perspective shows just how sharp the cutoff is from hail to no hail...
Update to the Wellington Hail Trail: This drone video comes from Merritt Dupon, who lives in this hail swath. She said this storm was Monday afternoon around 3:45p, and there was 2 feet of hail measured in some spots. There was even still unmelted hail there today #9wx #COwx pic.twitter.com/Lmlay5eLh9
